Characteristics and existing problems of ESP in coal-fired power plant

Electrostatic precipitator is a device which uses strong electric field corona discharge to ionize the gas and charge the dust, so that dust can be separated from the gas under the action of electric field force.
(1) the loss of bulk pressure is small, and the pressure loss is generally 160~300Pa.
(2) the energy consumption is low, and the treatment of 1000m3 flue gas is about 0.2~0.6kW H.
(3) the amount of flue gas is large and up to 106m3/h.
(4) high temperature resistance, ordinary steel can operate below 350 C;
(5) the efficiency of dust removal is high, and it can reach about 99%.

The shortcoming is:
(1) the structure is complex and consumes more steel. Each electric field needs a set of high voltage power supply and control device, so the price is more expensive.
(2) large area of land;
(3) strict requirements for manufacturing, installation and operation;
(4) when the flue gas is high concentration, it is necessary to use the prefix dust.
(5) the sensitive characteristics of dust dust, the most suitable resistance ratio is in the range of 104~5*1010. Cm, if beyond this range, some measures should be adopted to achieve the necessary removal efficiency, the most important point is that when the power plant boiler burning low sulfur coal boiler flue gas desulfurization dust or later than resistance unable to meet the requirements of use of electric dust collector, then the application of electrostatic precipitator, even if the 4 electric field above, can not achieve the emission concentration of less than 100mg/m3
